Ground Source Heat Pumps

Ground source heat pumps – is a central heating and/or cooling system that pumps heat to or from the ground. It uses the earth as a heat source (in the winter) or a heat sink (in the summer).

Heat Pump

To explain how they work – A ground source heat pump circulates a mixture of water and antifreeze around a loop of pipe – called a ground loop – which is buried in the ground. Heat from the ground is absorbed into this fluid and is pumped through a heat exchanger in the heat pump.

Unlike gas or oil boilers, heat pumps deliver heat at lower temperatures over much longer periods. This means that during the winter they may need to be left on 24/7 to heat your home efficiently. It also means that radiators should never feel as hot to the touch as they would do when using a gas or oil boiler.

Solar Panel Systems

We fully install and fit solar panel systems, they are a popular way to invest in your home and your energy future, while reducing your family’s carbon footprint for 25-30+ years. It will provide up to 70% of your home’s annual hot water or electric requirement.

We are installing more solar panel systems, they are now in demand by both building contractors and the domestic housing market.
The following link is from which magazine, it points out the cost and saving you could make once the solar panel system is installed.

Solar panel

Just to explain how it works, the solar panels take over from your boilers job of heating your hot water so you don’t use any gas, electricity or oil to heat your water, at night your boiler regains control, during the hours of darkness and low solar radiation.

The solar panels gather heat which it uses to heat-up a fluid, this fluid circulates through the solar panel and then through some pipes into a heat exchanger within your the hot water cylinder, the solar heat is then transferred to the water inside your hot water cylinder.

Air source heat pumps

Air source heat pumps are easier to install than a ground source heat pump, therefore cheaper as well. They also provide space heating and hot water for your home.

Air source heat pump

Just to explain how it works – Air source heat pump extracts heat from the outside air in the same way that a fridge extracts heat from its inside. It can extract heat from the air even when the outside temperature is as low as minus 15° C.

Underfloor heating

Under floor heating and cooling is a form of central heating and cooling which achieves indoor climate control for thermal comfort using conduction, radiation and convection.

We have installed under floor heating systems in many of our new build, refurbishments and private housing contracts, main advantage is warmth through the floor and not having to position your home around radiators.

Along with lower running costs the savings can be as high as 40% in homes with a condensed boiler and when you add this amount up each month, it will really make a difference on your bills. Also homes with under floor heating are known to have much higher resale value compared to other similar homes.

Underfloor Heating

Just to explain how it works – under floor heating systems operate by heat transferring from the water passing through the pipe directly into the floor. Because the whole area of the floor is warm, it heats the room more evenly.

All types of gas heating

  • Sealed System Boiler

A system boiler (also known as a closed or sealed system boiler) works on the principle of stored hot water. This means that you will need an airing cupboard or other space for the hot water storage tank.

  • Combi Boiler Heating Systems

Combi boilers have become the best selling boiler type for gas central heating in the UK. They are small; fitting into cupboards, and very economical to run.

  • Condensing Boiler Heating Systems

A condensing boiler works on the principle of recovering as much as possible of the waste heat which is normally wasted from the flue of a conventional (non-condensing) boiler.

  • Back Boiler Heating Systems

Back boilers provide reliable heating and hot water, and allow you to draw hot water from more than one tap at the same time, without affecting other outlets.
These are the installs we do, depending on your home, we recommend the best cost effective method to heat your home. Please contact us to organise a free quote on the many options you have from us.
